If I can't get replacements for my add-ons I'll eventually have to at least check if Chrome has similar functionality, and switch over out of security concerns.

How To Revert Update

In theory, downgrading your 57 is extremely simple: You can just download the old 56 installer from and downgrade your version by installing the old version on top of your new one. That said, it's perfectly possible downgrading could create minor profile problems or issues. I've done this many times in the past on a variety of Firefox versions with few problems, but it could always happen especially with such major changes between 56 and 57.I would back up your profile folder every time before installing a major update. You can find your profile by following a link in about:support. You can find the correct installer for your platform in the subfolders. Additionally, if you don't know what EME-free is, you don't need it!:)To all of you downgrading, please don't stay too long on an old version. To generalize, it always pays to try to keep up to date, to learn all-new things and to get used to things that you might not like.

It's a good sentiment for pretty much everything you do in life.I understand if you are having big problems with FF57, or need to recover data, or are waiting for an add-on to be updated. But don't settle on the old version! There may be replacement add-ons that you aren't yet aware of, they may pop up soon, and userChrome.css edits may be available that you can utilize to upgrade back soon.
