Buell Forum: Yellow VTwin Light Stays On? »»»»Yellow VTwin Light Stays On?«»AuthorMessagePosted on Friday, October 04, 2013 - 12:52 pm:Hi, my 08 Uly has the yellow light (check engine) that stays on until the bike is ready to start. Now its staying on all the time. Any ideas?Do I just need to find someone with a computer who can check codes? Thanks in advance for any help!Posted on Friday, October 04, 2013 - 01:15 pm:This thread tells you how to read the code without a computer:Posted on Friday, October 04, 2013 - 01:16 pm:The light normally comes on when you first turn the key and kill switch to on, but it will shut off in a few seconds.Being that yours is staying on, you have an issue.

You don't need a computer to check the codes, but the computer will tell you in plain English what is going wrong.Use a metal clip or something to short the #1 and #2 pins to each other, then turn the key to the on position. The check engine light will flash three times rapidly, pause two seconds, then flash (X) number of times for the first digit, pause two seconds again, then flash (Y) number of times for the second digit, then pause two seconds and flash three times rapidly again. It will repeat over and over again.
It may display more than one code in succession. If so, it will pause two seconds between flashing each digit for each code.ie: three flashes - 2 sec. Pause - (X) - 2 sec. Pause - (Y) - 2 sec.

Pause - (A) - 2 sec. Pause - (B) 2 sec.
Pause - three flashes.and so on. The codes are preceded and succeeded by three rapid flashes. If, when you turn the key to the on position, all you get are rapid flashes, there is no trouble code. Here are the codes:Trouble Code XBTrouble Code 1125Error ByteError Bit (0-7)Bit Value (dec.)Meaning2TPS Voltage too lowP01230664TPS Voltage too highRear O2 Sensor always richP0152038Rear O2 Sensor always leanP01540416Rear O2 Sensor inactiveEngine/Coolant Temp.
