Battlefront 2 Crash On Start
Im launching game 2. Black window shows up for few seconds 3. Battlefront process takes up to 600mb ram and then crashes game is literally crashing on start.
BFR 2 did that in vista. I tried and tried to fix it. But never found a fix.Maybe with 7's new registry calls I can find the issue.I reinstalled it tonight myself to test.vista had issues with all the star wars NOTOR 1 AND 2 GAMES also.lucas arts?
I've searched their registy entries so many times to try to find fixes in vista.can you post your error message to me when the game fails? Does it fail on load? Does it fail in game when you try to load a profile? Etcget back to me I will find a fix.
The problem then lies with what sound system you're using.For example, I'm not running RealTek. I don't get an option to re-enable my sound devices.When I follow the instructions as posted above, all I can do is disable my speakers, but when I re-enable them, my sound returns and BF2 crashes again.So far, any solutions offered (but in this thread and the other similar one) have been based around playing without sound (pointless), or enabling the Realtek sound (which I don't even have).Any other ideas, folks? Hi Pete!I got a solution, vvery similar to yours, but it saves you having to wear headphones.I plugged a set of phono headphones directly into the MICROPHONE socket on the front of my PC. They just hang there, don't interfere with my sound, and I don't need to wear the phones.Similarly to yours, if I unplug them mid-game, it crashes.Thanks!:)- AlastairWell damn.it worked.although it didn't before so I can't explain it. I just got the game and every time I try to launch the battle the game crashes instantly. The very instant I launch the game closes altogether.
